Trained as a clinical health psychologist, Dr. Friedman operationalizes insights from psychology and neuroscience into practical strategies to support personal well-being. Dr. Friedman’s technique is grounded in cognitive and behavioral strategies to optimize productive thinking, improve emotional thought processing, and enhance motivation for behavior modification. The compassionate and straightforward approach taken by Dr. Friedman enables individuals to understand, learn, and heal from unproductive mental processing/behaviors, in order to achieve optimal balance and performance.
THE PROCESS
Dr. Friedman will provide a complete psychological assessment, which includes scientifically- based and validated testing. You, with the support of Dr. Friedman, will be able to develop a personalized plan to target your overall well-being. Through the lens of objective clinical and scientific-research based knowledge, and listening to “Who You Are,” your story, and what’s challenging you, Dr. Friedman will help you navigate through your struggle and provide tools to help you heal and move forward confidently. This approach allows the focus to be on you–identify your challenges, and provide in-depth content to treat various health concerns.
Therapy focuses on developing the necessary skills for effecting lasting change, exploring strategies to unblock or let go of what no longer serves you, improving communication and understanding of yourself and those around you, creating new perspectives and mindset shifts, and/or seeking psychopharmacology consultation and medication management (if needed).
Some common diagnoses and issues Dr. Friedman treats: anxiety, depression, insomnia, mood disorders, weight loss, alcohol/drug misuse, medication misuse, addictive behaviors, grief and loss, relationship issues, Type-A behavior pattern, desire to make behavioral changes, letting go of unwanted or no longer useful habits, stress management, healthy living and tension/migraine headaches.
Dr. Friedman meets with patients individually, as couples, and/or as families. Meetings can take place in her office or via phone/Face-Time. Dr. Friedman does not bill insurance; however, an invoice can be provided to be submitted to your insurance company.
